巴氏合金的正常顏色是無光澤的銀白色，若出現(xiàn)白黃色，說明合金溫度過高，質(zhì)量差。若黃色較重，應(yīng)重新澆鑄。用銅質(zhì)小錘沿軸瓦表面順次輕輕敲打，正常時，發(fā)出清脆的聲音。當發(fā)出濁、啞雜音時，說明合金與底瓦粘合不好或有裂紋、孔洞等。澆鑄表面若有深度大于加工余量的大氣孔、裂紋或澆鑄不完全等現(xiàn)象，要重新澆鑄，在加工過程中，可進行補焊后，再加工。澆鑄好的軸瓦，經(jīng)過機械加工和刮研，就可以完全恢復(fù)原來的幾何形狀和尺寸配合的性質(zhì)。
